get a few years old skylark/special! i drove my 72 lark as a daily driver for over 3 years now (just 21 years old) and its never left me stranded! when it still had the 350 4bbl it would give me 16-20mpg ...now with the 455 it gives me 13-17mpg.... you know what i say about gas prices...so what! if i bought a new car for better gas milage...how long will it take me to pay off that car with the money i save from gas... if you got a 64-66 lark/special...and get either the 225v6 or the 300v8 then you could see over 20mpg no problem, and swap in a 200-4r then bam...you would have an awesome daily ride there... always could ge a motorcycle! my cousin lays down 80mpg with his 87 honda rebel 250...and i get over 30mpg with my 84 honda v65 magna! ohh and you could just rebuild your stock drums with better pads and springs inside...make them almost as good as aftermarket disc brakes...now i know they won't be as good...but a big step up without having to change to disc i just don't know if a new car would be in your best interest.... daniel
