I am wanting to buy some buick road wheels off someone that are 15x7 and 3 3/4" bolt pattern but dont know what my bolt pattern is on my car if anyone knows thanks.
I believe there are 2 sizes on the 79 Electra, if it is equipped with the 11" rotors it will have a 5 on 4 3/4" pattern, but with the heavy duty package and 12" rotors it was a 5 on 5" pattern. Most full size GM's from the late 70's and early 80's had the 11", if it was a wagon, police, or taxi it would have the 12" rotors. I know this is true on the Lesabre's and Old 88's, NAPA shows Electra's only came with the 5 on 5" pattern but you might want to double check, do you have to order them through the mail? if you can get them to let you try 1 on?? Otherwise, I took a piece of cardboard, removed 1 wheel and pressed it against the studs on my rotor, then cut out around it and punched out the holes, I used to carry it with me when I went to the junk yard as a handy dandy rim checker. Good luck.
Make that 4 3/4 :TU: The down-sized LeSabres could come with both bolt circles, but according to this list the Electras came with the 5 x 5 bolt circle: < Click thumbnail :Comp: But I agree with the person above (can't find his first name in his signature...) that it's always good to double check :TU: !!
Well, looks like you're stuck with the big wheels. Look at it this way, you already have the biggest brakes available.
