I have one on each side of the cowl area they look like 3 bushings with a screw holding them down They dont seem to be doing anything useful Can anyone tell me are they suppose to be there Can i get rid of them? they look horrible sorry bout the lousy picture Thanks Ricky
It looks like someone's homemade version of a rear hood bumper. The originals would be a one piece bumper with the screw recessed.
Thanks Bill im hoping to find the correct ones or just take these off i cant stand having these there :TU:
Ive searched a few vendors and cant find anything called a rear hood bumper would anyone have a set or know where i can get the correct ones ? Thanks Ricky
I have them for 70-72,I would think that they are all the same from 68 to 72,so,if you need them, give me a shout.BrunoD.
I did check them I couldnt find any listing for rear hood bumpers o No: Bruno was nice enough to ship me a couple I already went out this morning and removed these homemade thinga majiggys
I painted mine with my own homemade gold cad then you can plastic dip them if you get Brunos you can do same.
Look under the Vendor Then and Now with the other vendors. You may need to call him as not sure he lists them on his site. I saw them at BPG Nationals this summer.
The bolts at the rear of the hood aren't bumpers, they should line up with slots on the hood. In a front end collision the hood folds and prevents the hood from going through the windshield. Did someone add bushing to the bolts?
batcar is right. I can't imagine what someone was thinking, putting bushings on these. Check and make sure of the height, that they penetrate into the holes in the hood properly. The face you save may be your own, in a crash.
