Anyone know off the top of their head what the gear ratio's are for my TH350?

I am trying to decide, if I should go higher then my current 3.08 rear gear. Maybe a 3.42, but I want to see if I would be alittle steep with the TH350 when in first.

    Thanks in advance!

cray1801 Too much is just right.

    2.52 first, 1.52 second, 1.00 third

I have a TH350 with 3.42's and things are perfect (except on the highway).

3.42's with large diameter tires are a great combination. My 275/60-15's are 27.25" in diameter. If you have smaller 25" tires and do much highway driving it would be too much gear (IMHO).

Craig is right... my tires are tiny and its around 3200rpm (by the tach) at 71-72.

I plan on running 275/60/15's in the back so the 3.42's will stay. Last I checked the 275/60's were 27.99" (from www.ringpinion.com), which is much better than the 24.63" tire thats on the car now :TU:

i made a spreadsheet that helps you compare different tire/wheel sizes/gear ratios/transmissions at any given rpm or speed ...

email me at buickragtop74@yahoo.com and put "geardaddy" on the subject line and i will shoot you the spreadsheet. :TU:

it also has sheet to figure concrete for that new driveway, sidewalk or patio ....

and if you play with hydraulics ... it has some stuff to help with that too!!
