What are front big-Buick brake drums worth?

    Hi folks,

I have 3 aluminum brake drums from a '69 225. Two are right at the recommended .090" cut limit (though we always used to go a bit more, back in da day) and the third one might be at around .125" cut.

What are they worth? I want to sell them but just looked on E-Bay for some for sale and there were none. I grabbed these last year at the junkyard since I knew they weren't making any more of them and I thought that someone could use them.

Not looking to "kill" someone; just want to know the fair market price.

    Thanks!

    Nobody!?

    Somebody must have an idea?

What do you "Big Buick" guys do when you need replacement aluminum front drums?

I guess I will just put them up on here and E-Bay at some outrageous price!

I tried that. I have a pair of them. One has lots of meat left, and the other one is pretty thin. I put them on ebay, and I listed them with a $40 starting price. NO bids on two go-arounds. They are sitting on my shelf now. I even had them blasted and cleaned. Money down the toilet!

The earlier aluminum drums are big money, though.

There's a guy here in Illinois that relines them, but it's like $300 a drum or something like that.

he also buys drums is says.

I just saw 2 NOS drums at Hershey last week . They had a price of $400 for both on them. I sold 3 sets on E-Bay 3-4 years ago . Got $125 for a pair plus shipping. Seems Street Rod guys use them.

I've sold single drums for over $200, but they were all 45 fin. The ones I have are 90...and don't seem to command near the $$ as the 45's. I just couldn't believe I didn't get any bids with an opening bid of $40 on the PAIR. And I tried the auction twice. I gave up and put them on my shelf for a brighter day.

The ones I saw and the ones I sold were the 90 fin ones. I believe I still have 2 left out in the shed.
