I really need to get this off my chest. My week at work began with an overzealous building inspector who makes up ordinances at will. Needless to say i had to over ride him to get this resolved. The Building Commissioner granted my request. It's just a lot of wasted time, this inspector has given every contractor in this city a hard time. The Commissioner said for me to ask the inpsector next time for the codified ordinance pertaining to his claim, chances are there won't be one. Well, one battle won. Next day, we are doing an insulation re-hab in a 6800sq. ft. adult group home. The roof was totally destroyed by moisture damage so all the old insulation was removed new roof installed & we were to install ventilation baffles & blow insul. in attic. This first building like this went off without a hitch. But, yesterday i was following my worker in the attic approx. 6' behind him & then i hear a crack, & the truss he was standing on collasped sending him 12' down to the cement floor. Somehow he managed to fall right between the trusses 24'' on center. He landed on his feet & buttocks at the same time & cracked his head on the floor. Ambulance arrived & rushed him in for x-rays. He was conscience but a little delerious. The super. of this building said he should not have walked on that truss :spank: i replied that the truss should hold 190lbs, & further more we found 3 roof trusses after the fact that were rotted due to moisture damage. that changed his tune. The super felt that was the roofers blame for not repairing the damaged roof trusses. I offered to call the Cleveland building dept. for an inspection because the building is not safe. They didn't appreciate that idea. My co-worker & friend was released last nite & should make a full recovery without any broken bones. Today, his younger brother, another long time employee, is in the hospital for heart problems. as we finished our jobs today he was all flushed. Went to the hospital & the drs. determined that his is heart beat was messed up & they had to stop his heart & re-start it. Fortunately, everything worked out & he will be home friday nite. Lastly, my dad has an aortic aynerism, his check up indicated it got larger to a 3.8, when it gets to 5 surgery will be needed . sorry for the long story but i needed to get it out. Randy

    Things in threes?

:) I hope that things go in threes, and your tribulations are over. All the best to the workers and your dad. Take care.

Man Randy, sorry to hear about your bad string of luck. I think I need to organize a "Nite Out" again to help everyone loosen up and unwind.

Hmmmm, where and when should we have it this time???

    I'm in. Boys night out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The wife and kids are driving me crazy. Randy don't try and black mail me either.
Two solutions to the work problem. Hire really heavy guys and have them walk the roof first or really light guys and you (the boss) yell from the ground.

That sure sounds like a bad week to me. Take two hours of V8 and reply in the morning. :Brow:

Hopefully next week will be a whole bunch better! :)

Its been a bad year for alot of people (leap year maybe?). As for me-here's the rundown so far:
Marriage ended (well, this started late last year)- my worse fears realized-she is seeing the guy I suspected while we were married
Lost a job due to a company reorganization-found another thankfully.
My grandmother died of lung cancer
My mom was diagnosed with lung cancer a month ago- only found when she collapsed and an MRI showed it had spread to her brain
The fantastic lady I have since met had to be rushed to hospital last month for massive bleeding caused by fibroids (luckily surgury was a success)
The same fantastic lady I have since met's dad also has three anurisms-one in an artery in his chest and two behind his knee-AND he got into a car accident this Thursday which wrote off his car (thank the Lord the stress hasnt caused the anurisms to burst!
Now I have some major pain in my side and stomach with nausea 24/7- still undergoing tests- possible gall bladder.
So many people I know are going thru similar situations. I feel like hibernating till New Years!

I've had to have that done a few times ( it's one heck of a feeling, it feels like your being deflated) and they had to do an oblation (sp?) to fix it. I had the surgery in Feb. and haven't had a problem since. Do you know if it's vt (ventricular tachticardia) or svt (super ventricular tachticardia)? I had svt which is the lower vetricul.

Just an update: It looks like the attic jumper will be in to work early next week for light duty work. Secondly, his brother with the heart problem was released this evening & should be back at the same time next week. Just in time to manually un-load my semi load order :Dou:
Tony Phil & Dave, YES we need a boys night out, wherever & whenever, i'll be there & will BUY the first round! :beer
Brian, looking foward to Cecil next week. :3gears:
Todd, wow you have your hands full there! i really hope things do get better if at all possible for you too. :TU:
Michael, i'll find out exactly what condition he has, while i was working with him when this occured, it really scared the sh*t out of me. Thankfully, everyone will be ok. Randy
