Anyone have a WG coded wheel to sell. It does not need to be perfect, but I would prefer it. I only need one but will consider multiples or full set. Thanks.....Jim
I have a set of repo wheels and they are quite nice, but I prefer original wheels for my GSX. I have four excellent WG wheels that are original to the car, and would like to acquire another for the spare. The current spare is on an early '70 wheel which looks correct, but I guess I am kind of anal about the correctness of my GSX. BTW. Aren't the repo wheels even getting hard to come by? Jim
Jim, How does your early 70 spare wheel differ? No WG stamping? Or other differences? I have an early 70 late 69 wheel also as a spare which has no WG stamping but looks identical to the WG's.
Jim The original wheels are dated the first two weeks in April, the body was assembled 4-15-70, the invoice date was 4-27-70. I understand if you don't want to break-up a matched set. Bill As far as I have been able to determine, the stampings are the only difference. I have some "early '70" wheels dated as late as 1-14-70 that do not have the WG code. I have both early unstamped wg's and late stamped wg style wheels. I am at the nationals but will check the condition when I get home.
Jim, I just bought a 70 Stage 1 off a guy named Jeff in Ohio. The spare tire is supposedly a WG wheel. I'm not thrilled about getting rid of it, b/c it's a spare for my car right now. I'd rather wait until I found a correct wheel for my 70. If you want I will let you know when i find one. When I do I may be willing to sell the WG wheel. I have to talk to my dad about it. Brian
brian hi hows it going? hows every thing with the car? read your post and just wanted to let you know the wg wheel isnt the spare in the trunk its one of the wheels on the car , unless youve changed them. if i remember right its the pass side rear.jeff
Jeff, The car is running great. I changed the plugs and wires and made some other adjustments. I also got the oil guage to work. My father and I love the car. We've had a few people make some offers on the car, but I'm not going to sell it. One guy even followed us out to dinner one night to ask if it was for sale. I also put a new exhaust on the car, it sounds really nice. Thanks for the information on the WG wheel, I didn't realize that it was on the car. Thanks for everything you've done for me.
