Is the chrome good or will they need to be re-chromed? I know someone looking. Do you have a "buy them now" price before the ebay auction? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I guess no "Buy it Now", but that's cool I will watch for them to show up on ebay and tell my buddy. I am assuming the November ones are the early "7.0's" and the April ones are "WG's". Please try to post pics of the stampings. :TU:

Hey whats going on . I like the dash bezel I just won on ebay. Thanks. Any thoughts about what we spoke of onthe phone trade with cash for a painted shell?

Not wanting to steal the thread but would like to know if I had a set of rusty WG's what would they be worth? Assuming they were in the time frame for a GSX and what if they were too late for the X

    John,

I don't know what a rusted set would sell for, but I have heard it costs about $200 per wheel to re-chrome them, plus shipping. It's going to take someone who is very interested in "date code correct" parts to purchase them and then spend the money to re-chrome them when you can purchase very nice reproductions cheaper than the re-chroming alone. Good question, and I guess a no reserve ebay auction would be the best way to answer it. Good luck!

Thanks , that makes sense. I might look into the rechrome. Seems that they would be worth more than the repo if done well. Problem is when the chrome is done will the whole wheel be chrome?

Trying to duplicate the factory "brushed look" of the hub and spokes has not been very successful on the re-chroming of original wheels from what I learned when I looked into it, but one of the repro vendors (Specialty Wheel) does offer the brushed look on the repro wheel they sell. To answer your question, it seems possible since Specialty is doing it, but I don't know if they will re-chrome your original rims. You should call Dave Kleiner to discuss your originals since I know he has had them re-chromed in the past.

Sorry for the hi-jack, Jamie. :TU:
