I was wondering if anyone knows what the Format is for this race?? The Las Vegas Strip web site shows 10/8 (fri) Super car Test & tune,6pm, and Sat. 10/9, 9am Super car Spectular
(Buicks GNs etc). Just trying to make "other than racing, make the wife happy plans"......Thanks

Hey Gary, Skip and a bunch of the SoCal GS guys will be in Vegas. We're congregating at Arizona Charlies (Boulder Hwy) for pre and post race. There's always stuff to do in Vegas I guess but we generally lay low in the bar. There will be a lot of wives there so yours could probably find someone to shop with or such. I know a couple of the gals took off Friday before the races and did "something".

    Gary,

I see you're registered for "Stock Block, Heads Up". That's not available for the V8 cars. You have to choose, Test & Tune only or one of the ET brackets. Not that it matters, you'll run against the V8 cars in the brackets regardless of which ET you choose. We don't have enough V8 cars to break it up.

Thanks for the info. Gary, I should have signed up for the 11.49 and quicker bracket, how can I fix my mistake?? I'll see if I can call someone and make the change. My wife already has us set up with a room, I don't know where though, there are some Timeshares there and I'm sure it's one of them. It would be nice for us all to get together. Is it safe to say that the racing will take all day on Saturday??

It really doesn't matter since they'll put you with the V8 cars anyway and we all run in one bracket. I wouldn't worry.

I think we race until about 5pm Saturday. Gives us time for dinner and some adult beverages while we bench-race the night away. I've considered finding a good blues club but just get caught up with the guys I see only once a year. We will definitely let you know where to find us; chances are it will be at Arizona Charlies (the host hotel).

11.49 and quicker will put you right up on top of the V8 heap unless we get some quicker cars than we've had in the past. My buddy Len should have his Stage 2 car there this year so maybe you guys can mix it up some.

Does anyone know if there will be race gas, and nitrous oxide available at the track in Vegas? Or any shops in the area of the strip that might? If so, that would be great.I'd rather not bring a bunch extra on a casual 6 hour drive thru the desert.......
    Thanks, Gary G.

Race gas has been available at the track the past two years. Bring a jug.

We had 16 V8's last year and we just ran one class. We just had single elimination bracket racing for the cash. We had 8 cars the year before. Hope for more this year. However you could have run like a hundred rounds of testing....track was wide open most of the time.

Can't wait to see everyone this year!!!

BTW --- Last year I had to tell the people at the gate that I was a member of the "Westcoast Buick" crew so I could park in the pit area... Will I have to do the same this year?

I wish I could make it. I am stuck at 14.5 and could use some ideas.
