power lock solenoid's problems 76 Electra. Hi Anybody out there, that have any suggestions about were to buy new power lock solenoids for my 76 Electra? Also looking for the passenger side head light bezel and back window defroster.
Still looking. Actually I think the solenoids is ok, but the bracket is broken, maybe its possible to weld it back together. I dont know what kind of metal is it. Anyone out there who had recognized this problem.
If these are similar to my 71 ones, it is basic steel. I even managed to drill the welded points on the cylinder and weld the correct brackets. I wrapped the cylinder with a wet cloth before...It worked perfectly until I replaced them with a correct pair that Smartin had sent to me.
Thanks for the answer. When I get the car home from the Florida in January, I will weld the brackets back together and hopefully it will be OK, because 2 of them are just hanging, since the brackets are broken. I will also try to find some wreck yards in Florida when I go over in November and hopefully find any wrecked Electras.
