Sorry, I only make window stickers and they are complete with option pricing and descriptions. Thanks for the plug anyway David.

Duane H. will decode build sheets but I don't think he reproduces them.

At one time I ordered a blank reproduction window sticker (1966 and 1968) from "The Buick Specialists" in WA, they did have blank build sheets except the one that they sent me was for a chevy....
I think the 1966 window sticker was made by "Jim Osborne" reproducitons.

"The Buick Specialist" have since changed owners and I am not sure what their new name and number is. The old owners stiffed me on an order for a 1969 and 1970 blank sticker (take the money and run:mad: )

Someone on e-bay right now is selling blank window stickers and claims to have one for every year (no, its not me selling them:Brow: , really....). In their e-bay listing they say that they will send you and e-mail that shows you what the year sticker you are looking for would look like, I have not checked them out yet.

  5. Oops, sorry Mike. I don't start thinking straight until 7:30

    Doug,
I decode only copies of original build sheets for certain buick models. I will not create a sheet for a vehicle. Once I received a faked copy. This person photocopied an original, cleaned it up, and then typed his information over it. He was trying to fake a GSX. It was easy to see and I refused to decode it, thats why I will not create one. (I still have the copy.) If you see any of my decoded sheets at a show they are all taken from original build sheets.
Wayne Roberts and the Sloan Museum can give you the sales info/option codes your car came with. Between the two of them they have the original Microfilm for 1970 and 1972 cars. I don't know where the 1971 info is.
Mike Trom made a window sticker for my X-Camino. It looks beautiful and at the bottom reads; "This is not an original General Motors Corporation Window Sticker". It was cool to see the amount it would have sold for. It would have been an expensive truck. Mike did a great job.
    I hope this helps.

Aw shucks, thanks for the good word Duane...

As for option pricing, I have sent a bunch of info to Rick M. and he is going to print it in future editions of the BPG "The Build Sheet".

    The Build Sheet

    To everyone,
I know of quite a few interesting and informative articles about Gran Sports that will be in the next several copies of "The Build Sheet". I am sure they will become part of my reference library. Its a shame that Buick nuts that aren't members will not get to see them. Maybe fellow members could show copies to their friends so they can see what they are missing.

Sorry guys.I was looking for window sticker. I was up late when I posted that. The window sticker is what I am after. I remember them having them(this place on line). I looked at coupy of them and at the bottom they do say- Not original Reprint with the date or some thing like that. I am restoring a 65 GS with my brother and think it would look cool to have in the window a copy of what the original window stickers looks like. I could do what someone tried to do with the GSX but I would never tell them it was not the original. I could get the one from my dads 65GS but I would rather just buy it and type it up.

I look at what I just said and think to myself ( ya evryone says that until they sell the car for more money with the fake paper) Maybe its better that I cant find this place again on the computer. The crazy thing is I only saved it because I though it would be cool to have with the car.

    Thanks Everyone Doug

    Build Sheet

Hi Duane, I have to tell you that when I first bought my 70 Stage 1 (a real and matching numbers car) I literally tore that thing apart in a desparate search to find the Build Sheet. Much to my dismay(and disappointment)I could not find one.I have tried to get as much information about my car as possible and certainly want to prove to the brand Xer's out there that I have a rare and real car. Right now,the car is a frame off restoration and is nearing completion.I had Wayne Roberts do the research and everything came back from him as a real GS Stage 1. What else can I do to further the genuineness to my car? I appreciate your thoughts on this.

    Carl,
As far as I am concerned, If Wayne Roberts or the Sloan Museum has info on your car and it shows it is a real Stage 1 car, that's all the proof I need. Both groups are using Original microfilm sales information from GM. Thats why I will not reproduce a Build Sheet for a car without one. It gives the prospective owner the knowledge that if they see info from any of the above 3 sources it is a valid car. If anyone has any questions about the authenticity of my sheets they can always call. I have photocopies of all the original sheets I decode.
As far as furthering the genuineness of your car you need to look at the part numbers and date codes of the parts. This will tell you which parts are correct and which were replaced.
I have "checked out" several cars in this fashion. It usually takes several hours, but when finished the new owner knows what is and is not correct. If you get into this deep enough you can tell if body panels, glass, engine parts, interior pieces, even mirrors, or horns have been changed. It is also fun as every car is another "Quiz" and you are trying to find its history. This level of correctness becomes important when people are going to spend large amounts of money on a car.
I hope this helps. If you want to talk about this sometime give me a call. Nights after 6 pm (eastern) or weekends. (610)-544-6776
    I hope this helps. Duane

Thanks Duane for putting my mind at ease.I worry about stuff like this, being the fact that it is the first GS I have ever owned,I want the car to be the best that it can be.Again,I appreciate your thoughts and will certainly be calling you for the markings and labeling of parts.I agree with what you said,it is fun researching these cars and how the factory put them together. Thanks again.
