I came across a 71 Skylark while browsing for my future Buick bracket car. I looked at the car today, and bought it even though it's pretty rough. It'll need a bit of work, but the quarters and front fenders are rust-free. The passenger floor has rust, and it needs a windshield. No front seats, dash, or AC box either. Also needs a right inner fender(missing), fan shroud, grille and bumper, but the price was right. The guy was going to remove the disc brakes and all the good body parts and crush the car, so for $400 and a pair of disc brake spindles the car is now mine. This car looks like it will keep me busy for a couple months, at least it has 15" rally wheels already. Someone installed a chevy motor at some time in the car's life, but it is just a block laying in the car right now. Between this car and the 455/TH400/GS hood I picked up, this should be a fun car to race this year :) Wish me luck, and if you have any of the parts missing shoot me an email or PM.

Good luck with your new project Artie.

You mean you actually found a 'rust free' car in Jersey???

It looks like the quarters were done recently, actually a pretty nice job. The fenders are very obviously from a donor car, no Jersey cars escape rust completely

Glad to hear that, Artie! :TU:

Now after you're done, take that chebby block and chain it to the rear bumper and drag it around the block a few times :Brow:

I won't even waste the gas. When I get mad and decide I need to break something to feel better, a nice sledge will be "visiting" the chevy block as it rusts away behind the garage. If I really wanted to see it destroyed, I could always take the torch to it and melt it into slag
