STAGE III Lost Experimental 455-4 Bolt Main Block.

I have looked for literally years for one of these without humongous redneck or bling master fling 50” wheel, loud A$$ exhaust, chrome and other glue on exterior parts and rats nest of dee jamz boss sound system.
I had to pay up but it was on owner, quiet, all stock,no paint delamination, post rear (didn’t want 4wheel drive) post rear, stock 1500 series 2wd wheels, darn door style back door instead of the one piece that try and catch you under the chin whipping up when arms are loaded down(!)
Interior has ZERO tears, non smoker, no sun damage or dash crack,cruise,tile,gauges,Am-Fm plus cassette AND stock CD player, all power window work flawlessly and unlike my old Dodge it has a/c in the heat and and heat in the cold (freakin Dodge was reversed!
AND the 3.9 Dodge got 14mpg everywhere WHEN it got up to speed!
This almost 5000lb Chevy does that and sounds great with the factory stock exhaust (NO! not going to loud yer haw muffler exhaust!Leave that to the “X”!) and best of all it seats 9 people comfortably with the 1500 suspension.Has the comfortable split bench with monster lap top worth armrest, southern car all its life, I just love it and I am determined to use any and all original or USA MADE parts although I know they try and slip in some Ching Chang or Mexican made parts sometimes.
I am going to temporarily remove the luggage rack and tracks and hit the roof ,hood& fender tops with 1000 to knock off the still mint clear coat and go with a modern liquidglass clear coat at my friends shop so it doesn’t peel off like 90% of the ones I see on the road and then just enjoy rolling up high in my almost 5000 lb Truckasaurus WITHOUT the throw away crumble frame zone so no pulling out in front of this beastie!
Full factory trailer packing in case I need to pull the Poor Tourin X somewhere.
145,000 miles and no issues, really happy, I am looking for nicer 2wd wheels (5lug on 15’)if anyone knows of a source: )

Nice find Fritzee. I looked for a long time until I found a one owner 2002 Silverado that hadn't been all blinged or dinged up. They're out there but you gotta be patient.

Aaaasmen AND the guy almost backed out of selling it,but I wouldn’t leave till he took some$ & signed a down payment and even that almost didn’t work the next day, but we are tight friends now and he is happy he knows it will be well cared for and he will still get to see it : )

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

Looks nice. Friend of mine was looking for a 2wd Suburban 1500. He and wife rented a car and drove to N.Carolina to bring his back. All of them here were either blinged out or rust buckets.
    What year is yours?

Very nice truck. I have seen them run 0ver 300,000 miles. It should last you as long as the body will hold up. Looks super clean and rust free. Great find.

Hi Jerry mine is a 99.

Oh the wheel pictures? I took them for wanted ads. I want to keep it all stock.

Cannot believe I found a dead stock well kept non blinged and without ridiculous exhaust.

I might add factory step bars for my Mom.

Anyhow just very happy to have something nice again : )

Now you can be the guy to put cherrybombs on it, 40inch chrome but go with the real large tires not the rubberbands, Put some slump in it , a hot tub in the back, add another rearend and make it a dual dually.

:D:D Yesssssss believe me I have seen all the clapped out yee hawed or bling blanged , ear shattering, rattle traps forever.
I guess that’s why their value on the rare unmolested examples is creeping up there with mint Wagoneers which it is also difficult to find stock & clean.
Another thing I am gonna do is load my go to tool boxes, tow slings, paramedic bag, receiver hitch mounted 25,000 lb winch, fire extinguisher, jumper cables and emergency warning marker kit all in the back by the “barn doors”
I love to be prepared as well as help people but the biggest plus will not be wrecking myself every time I need one of those heavy as sin tool boxes to work on one of our other cars. Crank up the Suburban and drive my portable tool bench right over to it instead of fifty trips to the tool shed. Gonna really enjoy that!

Electra Man: Thank you for the tips on fuel and brake lines. Engine choices for 1999 were the 350 gas (what this is) and the 6.5 diesel.
    Great running motor : )

TexasT Texas, where are you from

Nice. What wheel are you looking to swap to? Impala SS will bolt on(5x5) those wheels on it are what all the trucks got in that time. Ours both have over 200k miles. White one in at about 275k, my dad bought it new. The tan one just over 200k bought to pull our big trailer. I've replaced parts on both and the 1500 is getting a trans overhaul and front end refresh. I love em both.

    Hi Rich,
Nice lookin Suburban family : )
I want to keep it factory so using the original 10spoke 2wd aluminums.
Now if there were some cool steel 15” ventilated police dog dish cap styles I might consider that just to make people wonder lol

Police issue Tahoes had them, John. No sure if they are 15" but you may find them with nice tires mounted.

Beat me to it, Jerry. Yes, lots of different options. John, if you haven't checked into tire prices lately, maybe look at them before you decide on 15s or 16s. Getting harder to find and generally more expensive than 17s and 18s anymore......

It's hard to find 2wd trucks these days. To me - here in sunny SW Florida, 4wd is a big negative.
