Think of getting rear end lift blocks, half or 1 inch for spring lift. mounts between spring and rear end houseing, I imagine will lift the rear, half to 3/4 quarter. car currently has rear air shocks, car sits at 30-45 psi, but at 65-70 psi car sits great, but hard ride, rather have the ride height but a better softer rebound of a shock, instead of air shocks stiffness. What do you all think ?

Hey what's up? This is Big Butz. Are you going to race it or what? I would put new springs in it and air bags in the coils. But if the front is high and you are going to put big wheels on it than I guess go with the spacers.

Doo Wop Where were you in '62?

If you need to carry that much air in your shocks...time for new springs. MHO

They may be higher than you think. There is some mechanical advantage due to the bolts being in the back and the springs being mounted in the front. At least they look like you can cut them down if they are too tall.

Do you have a picture of it with the shocks down and the shocks up? Might help explain your predicament.

Big B, kinda related: what is your front tire size and rear tire size? Reason I ask is that you might have a taller front tire compared to the rear tire alone, which adds to your situation. Also, i remember back in h.s. when I had my 72 Impala, the jacked up rear made the stance look great but when you punched it the wheel hop would jar your teeth loose. Don't stray too far from the rear 4 link's proper geometry to get the look.

My question applies to BWINN519's spacers as well, they are the same type.

I bought a set from Mr. Lift Kit in Texas. $40. Guy's name is Harlon, easy to deal with. They sit on the Spring Seat with the spring on top of it. 1 - 1 1/2" by turning it. Bolts come with it. Very Thick Aluminum. Now my Skylark isnt an ass dragger.

I don't know if your rear springs are sagging as bad as mine were on my '64, but I ordered stock replacement Moog springs from Summit Racing and installed them 3 weeks ago. That alone raised the rear up 1-1/2" from floor to fender lip at center line of wheel. No more tail dragger, and the ride improved too. Was under $70 shipped, and took less than 3 hours to swap. I replaced the rubber insulators on top of the springs also, cost around $30. Well spent $100!
