Hi guys, not to toot my own horn or anything, but thought I would post here and let you all know that I have a new page thats starting up with road test reviews, etc from the period. I had a 72 GS 455 up for the last two months, this time it's a small one page writeup on the 70 Riviera...not a real road test but some interesting thoughts from the day. I will have more in the future all the way from a 63 Skylark up to a 73 GS...with several on the GS's and GSX. No order, and will repeat once they have all been cycled through (there are only so many after all). Much of this info comes form a gentleman named Paul Manuel who is sharing it with me so I can share it with all of you. Thanks Paul!! http://members.shaw.ca/timcr/roadtest.html You can of course still follow the ragtop buildup, should be lots happening soon, not sure how much I can post as I am running out of space...maybe I'll have to delete the movies and the 97 WS6 pages. http://www.members.shaw.ca/ritc1/ Stay tuned. later Tim
I have a rather thick book of every published article about the Riviera from 1963 to I think 1973. Pretty interesting stuff. If anyone wants a specific year let me know and I'll burn copies for you.
Haven't seen that one before. I recently picked up off ebay a Popular Mechanics owners survey of the '70 Riv. Titled, "Great styling, but how about a little trunk" Has a good picture of a '70 Riv being thrown into a turn. It looks like its about to flip over. Which shows you how much peoples expectations in an automobile have changed. Many of the owner's rated handling as one of it's strong points. Sure at 80MPH on the Interstate.
That review is from a Sept 69 new model review in, I think, Car and Driver. They were short overviews on selected models. My Dad had a copy of it which I promptly cut all the cool pictures out of. I have it somewhere, all mangled and hacked up:ball: If anyone has a good copy of this magazine and would like to part with it , I'm interested. Would bring back some good memories for my old Dad. Hey Tim , snowing yet? Adam.
yeah its snowing...started day before yesterday, been a cool year (global warming?? love to see it)...man it was slippery the other night too, had to take a 737 to the terminal from our hangar, the nosewheel steering was useless, could turn the nosewheels hard over and the thing just kept going straight...had to use differential brakes and thrust to keep it on the taxiways, make turns and get it bridged....little scary....then I had the drive home in the morning..normally 10 minutes, took over an hour.... I gotta move south... later Tim
