I'd like to keep the factory original water pump in my '70 Stage One because I think most every part on the car is factory original. Does anyone know of a good water pump rebuilder where I can send my original pump, get it rebuilt and have it sent back to me? Thanks, Dan
I knew I'd be asking this sometime.... Might as well be now. How do you tell if it is the correct year casting number, and how do they brake down the date codes on them(same as the block, heads, etc)? I think I have 3 pumps to check.
I have used The Flying Dutchman for years. Keep my fingers crossed, no bad ones yet. He's advertises in Hemmings. He's in Oregon. Tom T.
Thanks, all. Tom, I looked in Hemmings and the only Portland Oregon vendor for water pump rebuilds that I could find is called Automotive Friction (800-545-9088). Is this the place you have dealt with (Flying Dutchman)? Thanks, Dan
Just in case this question came up I brought home a Hemmings from work. The address is: The Flying Dutchman 200 Davis Creek Rd. Selma, OR. 97538 Phone # 541-597-4057 Just tell him what you want, what you would like to do or use. He has the ability to manufacture parts that are no lnger available if that may be the case. He may not be the least expensive but I've found his work to be above par to most. He's a nice guy & the turn-a-round is reasonably quick. I'm sure you'll be satisfied. Tom T.
