Dear V-8 Buick automobile cool technology freaks,

*IS* there any other sort of lighting these days then LEDs?

Well, of course there are plenty of skeptics on this board, but what puzzles me is perhaps there are fewer of these LED freaks than I imagined. The particular technology I'm curious about are are these LED arrays that can be fitted into a front parking light. Here is an example from Digit-Tails for a 1966 Chevelle:

Here is sample photo from the same web page:

It is this photo that raises the question. Honestly, I have - NO - idea how this a pair of these would actually look installed on a classic car. Some of my Buick friends are begging me not to go down the path of darkness . . . ( [IMG] . . . a path of darkness? . . . with LEDs as bright as these!?! :Brow: . . . . . . never mind! :Dou: ) However, my quest is much more modest - but apparently just as impossible.

Surely, some sucker [IMG] (err, I mean brave automotive "brother" (sic.) from the Chevrolet division of General Motors . . . [IMG]) would have installed them on his Chevelle and posted pictures on Team Chevelle - right? . . . Wrong, I searched all over that website - no pics. Getting a little frustrated, I put the Google image search on the case - still nada.

Well if search technology has failed me, can social networking come to the rescue? Does anybody know of pictures of a real live car with these sorts of LEDs installed so that I could see either this technology either: as wonderful, or as God awful, as various folks claim?

Curious minds want to know! :idea2:

    Cheers, Edouard :beer

P.S. thanks in advance for any leads! :TU:
