Ricky, When it comes to 68 parts, you dont have the option to question the price. You just buy it and be happy you could.
I agree with Mark, Ricky - thats a pretty rare piece and almost ALL the used ones you see look like crapOla. If yours is that bad I dont think $245 is that outragious ... ... but about 15 years ago when I was looking for a rightside mirror for BigRed in MINT condition because it was just coming out of resto, you know what he told me the price was after telling me "Yes, I have one ..." ? YOU cant afford it !! Swear to god, he didn't even give me a price / had no idea who I was or what I could afford o No:  I just hung up and found a mint one in a south western junk yard about a week later for $35. Its still on the car and looks better than the repro one I bought (no slam on Franks' Repro ...it will go on the Wagon)
Yes i understand mine was not that bad But i wanted to improve it im now kicking myself wishing i left it alone I have since sent it to a guy who says he can make me a new face for it but with no guarantee it will look nice so we will see if not i will be calling Frank for the $245 After i obtain my very nice 68 Grille of course Or maybe George is holding out on me he probaly has one in his vault
I only know of one 68 nos scoop in existance....the proverbial hens tooth...I am sure there are more....if you have 5 years to look for it.....:beer
Ted, Starting to find the same thing with the 65-66 Wildcat. One year only parts, and not much on the repro side. Good thing I have friends in the know with these cars. :beer
