wanted any condition 65-66 nailhead 400 switch-pitch trans. at this time any condition is fine, since i can't seem to find one at all. if i'm understanding correctly the nailhead 400 is different than a bop 400 other than the switch pitch part. please correct me if i'm wrong, but if i find a nailhead 400 trans it will bolt up, i wont need a spacer or adapter, but i'll have to get a different flex plate and enlarge the hole to fit a dynaflow crank. i'm trying to get my project moving this year and could use some insight.
a nail head tranny is completly differnt from a bop 400 nailhead is all by itself i have a few here in the garage that are good cores that means they worked but i do not want to garantee them $125 for the tranny also i have that good dyno yet from a 63 riv if needed call me 1-920-893-0629 Greg
If your budget permits, check these guys out. http://www.transmissionadapters.com/53-66_nailhead.htm They sell the transmissions for chevy trannies, but atleast its a step further than where you are now. They are priced $595.
