I understand that is Duane no longer making these....but I thought I would see if anyone is willing to sell one. I have a very deserving car in need of one.

    Please email me at.....abodymuscle@aol.com

    Thank you,

I made 2 different styles, the 70 and the 71-72’s.

You need to state which year you need, and yes I do not have any.

    If you can’t find a 70, you can cut down a 71-72 into a 70.

    Just something to think about.

Dan hopefully there’s one out there for you.

A few years ago I was at a friend’s house buying a few parts and while there I told him I would like to find one Duane’s front spoilers. He said he’s got an extra one wrapped up in his attic that he was willing to sell it to me. I was thrilled.

Duane really did a nice job reproducing these spoilers.

I bought the last 2 Duane made for a 71 at the bpg event years ago.
One still on the car. The other I sold 2 years ago in b.g.
Definitely the best spoiler out there ever.

That pic of the spoiler is funny.
As soon as I saw it I remembered going to job sites looking for carpet padding to wrap them for shipping. (Recycling at it’s best.)

Some of the things I used to do.

It’s good to know people appreciated what I made.

Duane, He had never even unwrapped this one until we opened it together to check the condition. I was like a kid on Christmas morning opening a gift.

Not to screw up a-parts-wanted-ad but I used to do that with Brad.

When he was working on the 70 White GSX I used to send him packages of parts I found or made for his car. I would let him know something was coming but wouldn’t tell him what it was.

He would call me once he opened the box and always said it was like Christmas.

For comparison's sake here is an original '70 baffle compared to the '71 baffle pictured by Nelson.

The baffle material was the same as the fender aprons isn't it....I need to get one for my car but would like something other than the plastic

    No,
The baffles were originally made out of plastic and were smooth on both sides. The repros are made of the same material.
    Duane

    PS,
If you look at the pics of the spoilers above you can see the differences between the years. They mount differently at the center hole.

The reproduction I bought a few years ago is made of a firm sheet plastic similar to the original part but the reproduction piece is only smooth on one side. If anyone is aware of a reproduction piece that is smooth on both sides please let me know the supplier.

At one time the manufacturer I know make some that were only smooth on one size. I bitched and they were changed to smooth on both sides.

Now that was years ago, I have no idea what they are making today.

In reality there were actually 3 different front baffles used on these cars, the standard 70 style, a very late 70 style, and then the 71-72 style.

Some of the very late 70 cars came with the 71-72 style spoilers, so the cars with those used baffles contoured to fit the 70 front bumpers but the rear edge was cut like the 71-72 baffles.

I have only seen 1 or 2 of them, but they are out there.
