New Project, Pictures, Need some advice

Hey everyone! I haven't been here in a while really. Looks like its time to start frequenting the board a little more.

My dad and I have a new project. It's a 30/31 model A. We have this 322 nailhead sitting in the garage we are gonna put in it. Our plan is to build a hot rod and drive it to a few local things and sell it.

I would like your opinions as to what we should do to the motor. We don't exactly have much money to put into it but it would be cool to put some neat old hot rod parts on it. We really dont wanna go through the motor and/or have to do anything internally.....especially if it will cost lots of money.

Is there anything we should know about getting this old motor running again?

It would be cool to get a 3 deuce intake or something like that. Maybe an old mallory distributor.....clear plug wires.....finned valve covers. hahaha. Im just dreaming now.

I honestly dont know much about these motors or where to find parts. Im trying to read up on things though. Well, enough of making my self sound like a goof........heres what it'll be going in.

Finding intakes is no problem, the 322 will share with a 264 only, not the 364-401-425. Same goes for a trans adapter. They too can be found fairly easily. However, the stick flywheels are a bit more difficult to find. I would think most all of the adapters had flywheels at one time but I don't know where they all went.
valve and valley covers fit all nailheads from 53-66. Some slight differences as far as pvc, roaddraft tubes, etc.. but they all bolt up the same.
Old distributers show up on occasion but are starting to bring a good price.
It could be done but would be much more expensive to put together than a sbc and may not fetch much if anymore as far as resale price goes. If you were keeping it, I would definately go with the buick, if not you should price it out.
What would you ask for the car done? How about as is?
Kinda looking for a new family cruiser for my wife. And yes, I would put a 322 in it and some of my goodies from my secret stash!!! Sorry, I don't have any parts that I want/need to sell at this point.

    Thanks for the info DualQuad,

We are pretty sure we wanna use the nailhead. I dont think it would be as fun to build it with an SBC. We have a flywheel that fits on it and 2 bellhousings. They are both manual bellhousings but neither of them are for the 322. I guess they are for the later model. One bellhousing is actually chrome. We also have a chrome starter for it, but who knows how good it is.....

Anyways, we dont wanna sell it now. It really just depends on how much money we have into it when we are finished with it. After we get it done maybe we can talk, or just build it to your liking

I hate copying other peoples cars but there is virtually nothing that hasn't been done before. This is the direction i wanna go with the car.
