I've been looking for 70 GS 455 for what seems like forever though it's really only been a year and a half. Below is my laundry list of things I'm looking for (this may explain why I'm still searching):

70 is definitely my preference. Might consider a 71 or 72, but really want a 70.

Convertible slightly preferred over hardtop overall, but wouldn't hesitate to buy either.

Air conditioning is very high on the list of wants. Would possibly consider non-AC, but there would have to be something special about the car.

Want a 455 GS. Stage 1 would be cool, but not willing to pay an outrageous premium. No clones or 350s right now.

Numbers matching would be very nice, but not absolutely required. Would want period correct drive train though.

Built in Flint (born there so it's sentimental)

Color order...Black, Red, Silver, White. Maybe blue exterior, but no blue interior. No greens or golds. Don't like vinyl tops. Bucket seats are good.

Rebuilt engine highly desired. Straight body and clean frame and under carriage a must. No rust or collision repair highly desired. Quality of engine and body more important than interior. Don't have the space to do a resto myself, but can do some interior work if needed.

I want to drive the thing without regretting it or worrying about every little thing. Might take it to an occasional show, but no trailer queens.

Trying to keep it between $25k-$35k, but might nudge higher for the right car.

Not too much to ask right? :puzzled:

This car meets most of your criteria, but is a Fremont built car.

Are you still looking. I have a 3 owner, 4 speed ,455 no. matching, Cal. car. Did a frame off, only rust was at the bottom corner of back window. Let me know and we can talk on the phone for a better description. Mark
