Hi I do not have anything to help you but I got all my pedals and such from a 65 4 door Special with a 3 speed stick, should not be real hard to find one of them or I believe pontiac Lemans and other A bodies from the period such as chevelles should work, goodluck and hope you find what you need.If you want the original Borg Warner Trans you will find it very difficult to find that.I used a 65 M20 Muncie with a Hurst Competition Plus shifter in mine which in my humble opinion is much superior to the Borg Warner and the Muncie shifter anyway.
Hello, I know where a z bar is for a 65 Skylark is if you are intersted. It is in a salvage yard 30 miles away. It was there the last time I was there. I dont know what he wants for it but I can find out. Let me know. Thanks, Scott
The only thing common between the GS and regular special/skylark is the pedals. All of the linkage is different and unique to only the '65-'66 GS cars. It is all also made of unobtainium. The last flywheel housing I saw went for over $500 on Ebay, and it didn't have the sheet metal cover for the front of it (also a unique part).
Somebody is making a bellhousing repro I believe for the 401 Nailhead as I have seen them on Ebay I think for 400.00 buy it now.
The repo is completely different than the factory one--it is set up for a standard GM pivoting clutch fork. A factory '65-'66 GS flywheel housing has a shaft that goes all the way through it with a fork mounted onto it. The cluch is engaged by rotating that shaft--night and day difference from what that aftermarket housing has. You could use the aftermarket one, but you would have to custom design/make all of the clutch linkage for it.
