I am in need of a 3-groove crank pulley for 401 425 nailhead. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Dan

You will need the 3 groove water pump pulley also for a matching pair.

I actually have both pulleys but, with my build I was trying to make room and thought I could run a two pulley system. Like a dummy I chucked the crank pulley up in the lathe and cut the outer sheave off...:Dou: I was trying to get my engine behind the rack to get a better operating angle. It did not work... After mocking up my power steering, alternator on 1-sheave and then trying to run the AC pump on the remaining sheave I could see this was not the best way to go. By replacing the lower pulley with the correct 3-sheave pulley I can run 2-belts on the AC pump.

Ross, Thanks for the link but for now I am trying to stick to OEM stuff.

I checked the other night and don't have any crank pulleys anymore. No clue what I did with them when I moved???
    Good luck with your search.

I don't know if this pulley would work on your engine but take a look. You can see the size approximation with the tape measure (a little over 5" diameter on teh largest area) but let me know if you need other dimensions if maybe this is what you need.

Kevin, That looks like a water pump pulley. I need the crank pulley. Here are some pics of the pulley I need. Notice the bolt pattern and how the third sheave is attached as a separate piece on the front of the pulley. Thanks for looking.

I just parted out a '63 that had a 3 groove crank pulley that had been in the trunk for years. It's really rusty (don't even know if I can get it off the balancer with out breaking a bolt) but if you think it's salvagable, you can have it cheap. Send me an email or a PM with your feelings. eeraner@yahoo.com

I have a 3 groove crank pulley. Cleaned, primed with self-etching primer, painted & ready to go. $75.00+shipping. A postal money order made out to myself. As soon as the PMO arrives it will be in the mail that or the next day.

    Tom,
The pulley showed up yesterday as expected. It was just as you described. Took about two minutes to fix the small ding in the outer edge and is now ready to go to the powder coater. Thanks for your help. Dan

I'm glad it was as you were expecting Dan. These pulley's & many other "NailHead" engine parts in good condition are getting harder & harder to find. I do my best at describing parts since I'm a gearhead & my difinition of just "Good" is someone else's perfect.
