Figured I would try one more time before I give up. Anyone have a Stage 1 distributor they're willing to part with?
Jason, Those things are next to impossible to find anymore. Anybody that has one doesn't want to sell it. I did have 3 - 1112016 distributors at one time, but am down to just one for our 2 - 72 Stage 1 cars. The one I have is a 1975 service date code. It's in excellent shape but it's disassembled. I had it listed for $600 on here recently because I really didn't want to get rid of it, but figured if somebody wanted to give me that I would live with an incorrect # for our cars. Tim
There is one of them hiding somewhere here too,but not ready to sell it as well as the correct coded Stage 1 carb...They are a tough find...
1112110 Jason, this distributor came with the stage 1 motor i picked up several years ago. It's not the number you asked for and I didn't find it listed in George's Buickperformance sight. Do you know if this may be a fit for you? sean
#1112110 is the correct distributor for a 72-74 regular 455. All of the 70-74 Stage 1's had a #1112016.
Mine won't work Jason, one of the board members helped me out with the ID on my distributor. Tim, you were right, Jim Lore confirmed it is a 73 455, nothing special. Hope you find the one you're looking for. Sean
I am sitting on one also. Looking to trade for an early 70 vs. the later version I have. Any one interested? Bill
Sorry guys, I havent been responding to this thread as I should be. I was hoping to spend around 300-400 bucks for one in good shape. Im not sure if thats realistic or not these days. Tim, your distributor is awefully tempting, but Im not sure if I need one that bad....yet. I understand where your coming from with the price. I think that way myself on certain parts. I had asked Santa Claus for one last year. I got a letter Christmas morning in my stocking saying that he only had one left and it was going in his GS. ou:
Jason, If by chance I run across another one for sale I will let you know. Another option may be to have one re-stamped. I know that's a common practice with the Chevelle and Corvette people. Tim
The number shown at buickperformance.com for a 70 Stage 1 is 1111962? The 1112016 is shown there as a 1971 455 standard trans and a Stage 1? Can anyone shed any light on this discrepancy? Harvey
Buick Performance is incorrect. That number is for a 69. I suspect that was taken from one of Dove's books was also incorrect. We have several 70 s and they are 70402016. 2016 remanined the suffix from 70 untl 74 when the HEI was introduced.
Stage 1 distributors New Price I have 2 remanufactured distributors #1112016 that i will be listing one is a march 18 and the other is a mid year let me know if your interested $600.00 ea.
