Hi I am fairly new to the V8 board, and new to GS's but I am looking for a GS350 or GS455 factory 4 speed car. Looking for a drivable resto project, but does not necessarily have to have a motor. I would like to find one in IL where I am located, or WI, IN, areas. If you have something you can PM me. Thanks I can be reached at 847-401-1332
You just missed my 71GS 455 Convertible 4 spd that I sold. Expect it to be picked up Tuesday. Timing is everything. Since they only produced 27 big block 4spd convertibles (18 455 & 9 Stage1) there are not many around. Even clones. How about my real but rebuilt 10-10 GSX 455 4spd. Probably out of your price range.
So what is a 70 GS Stage 1 project car worth to you? This is a real stage 1 not a clone. Non matching numbers, 4 speed, 455, was Midnight blue metallic with white interior and a white top. It was but now stripped to metal ready to start metal work. Engine in the car is a typical 455, the Stage 1 was pulled and machine work started then stopped entire project.
James70Stg1 I can't put a price on someone's car. I am slowly learning what they are going for. It if it helps. I have to be under $10K. Sorry it is all I have at this time. Thanks John
a few years ago, there "was" a 69 GS convertible manual shift body tub on frame in an Alamogordo, NM yard (North US 54) It may? still be there. Needed everything, but was not totally rotten either - pans needed to be replaced, but body braces and body mount areas looked good. Boxed frame was probably good too. Know it is one year too early but just throwing it out there.
If you end up being able to afford more, we still have our 72 GS 350 4spd. conv., 59K original miles, Cascade Blue, black top, white bench seat interior, in survivor condition. I'm doing a few little things to it so it's ready to drive this summer, and will probably hang some for sale signs on it.
If you are looking to have an original Buick70, 71,or 72 4spd.. To convert an automatic trans car, the last time I looked the parts were over $3K. I wish you luck at your asking price. for an original 4spd car. I think you're off by about $10K for a nice car. You may find a money pit for $10K, I've been there and done that and will never do it again. Be careful what you wish for and be realistic. If you get a rust bucket 4spd cheap, you'll go broke trying to get it fixed. Mike
I just looked at a 70 GS 4545 convertible 4 spd project. You will not be able to drive it but you would be able to restore it. But look at spending around 1k to get the car and a very expensive resto
Chi-Town yes I have seen it .the only thing keeping me away is the Brown on Brown. It was common back in the day. Thanks. ---------- Post added at 06:14 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:13 AM ---------- Staged 70 thanks. Sounds like a money pit. ---------- Post added at 06:14 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:14 AM ----------
