    It depends...

I'm open to various cars;1970's are my favorite, but a '71-2 GS 350 would be fine,Stage 1's are obviously more expensive, but it would depend on the details of the car...I'm looking for a driver, something that's mostly or all original/had possible restoration etc.,what do you have?

Probably going to be easier to fit you into a car if you said roughly how much you are looking to spend.

If it is less than $10k, you probably won't be able find a big block car, so that means a 71/72 GS 350 needing some work, or a nice Skylark. If it is $15k, you should be able to find a nice driver quality 71/72 350 car, or maybe a 71/72 big block car needing some work. $20k will probably get a 70 GS needing a fair amount of work, or a nice GS350. $15k - $20k will probably get you a real nice big block clone car as well.

$25k and you might be able to find a nice driver quality 70, or a real nice 71/72 big block. $30k - $40k and now you will be able to find a real nice 70, or maybe a Stage one needing some work, or a nice Stage 1 71/72 (maybe).

It just keeps going up from there as you crank up the old quality wheel. You can also keep going up if you are only looking for #'s matching cars, 3 or 4 speeds, Stage 1's, etc. You can easily top $100k for a nice Stage 1 manual car, if you can find one, and if you can convince them to sell.

Course if you want all that at half the price, buy a 68/69.

$18,000 As stated, "excellent driver, can be driven anywhere". This car has no rotted out areas that I know about. Quarters, fenders, frame, doors are all good. I've known the car for the past 15 or so years. The paint is reasonable for being painted more than 20 years ago. I can't say how the rad support or right front fender well look. Being that they are below the battery they may have rust. I know that working on it last year it didn't stick out in my face, but I truely didn't look. I know that he always removed the battery for the winter since I have known him. I know the car has always been garaged in a clean, dry garage. I just completely did the brakes last year as well as many other minor things. I started a/c work with a rebuilt compressor but never finished it. Everything is there but ran out of time. I've worked on this car at my shop as recent as last year & the car has been driven to Jersey & back a few times with no problems from Ct. When it was at my shop other Buick guys had stopped by & commented on how good it's condition was.
If you may be interested I can put you in contact with the person who owns the car. He is always busy & is very difficult to get ahold of.
All I & he ask is that you don't waste our time as we both have lots to do.

    NO TIRE KICKERS!!!!!!

If you or anyone else is truely interested arrangements can be made.

Found this Drop Top on Ebay.

    Hi grandsport,

Found this 1972 GS350 on ebay.
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...=4573594222&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1
    Thought you might be interested.
If you can get get the numbers off of the body plate. I can help you on the exterior and interior colors.
It is hard to make sure that the rest of the car is matching #s without running the Vin# with Sloan and seeing the car in person to check the numbers on the rest of the car.
Its missing the wheel mouldings. Someone put back speakers in the back panels. The wheel caps are missing.
And judging from the from the picture of the engine compartment it looks like it might need some TLC.
A place to start if you really want a Drop Top.
Every year that goes by it is harder to fine them.
Let me know if you need any help in decoding any Buicks you might be interested in.

    Ebay Reluctance...

While I'm sure there are many solid vehicles and sellers on Ebay,I'm very reluctant to use this form of quest.I could never buy anything of such value without; a)speaking directly with the owner about many details b)seeing extensive photos of the vehicle c)seeing the vehicle first hand and giving it a thorough inspection, including a compression test...

    Any thoughts...

Yes, I agree with what you said in the above quote.
Why would anybody want to buy a car without seeing it up close or at lease driving it.

I sold a 1969 Baracuda Conv. on ebay a few years ago for a friend.
NEVER AGAIN will I sell a car on ebay. A week of my life wasted answering anywhere from 50 to 100 emails a day. Didn't matter how much information I put in the listing. There was someone wanting to know more.
Then after it was sold. I had to pick-up the buyer at the airport so he could drive the car back to the US.
My friend did pay me well for selling it.
So now all I sell on ebay is things I can put in a box and mail by post.

I saw your email on my computer this morning and will answer it when I get home from work.
    Talk to you soon.

It is truly a rare car but gee with that type of detailed resto one would hope the owner would have recieved the correct air cleaner lid , master cylinder etc.

An old (former buick and olds dealer) has a 71 gs 350 conv. that he offered to me for 20k. Been sitting in his collection for quite some time. Dont think it would have many miles on it. Auto, Blue with Black top and int.

he sold it new to a customer, then years later took it back in on trade. Said it had been rear ended at one time tho.
