I have a light duty posi unit that will fit your housing and a set of 308 gears PM me if your interested
First, you need to determine if you have the 7.5" rear or the 8.5" For best performance, get an 8.5 and then find a full size wagon from 80-87...those sometimes have 3.23 gears and posi units......I don't know if the full size wagon rear will be a direct bolt-in for your 84 LeSabre.
Year one has this unit that I have been thinking about. Powertrax differentials convert standard non-limited-slip or "open" differentials to locking type for greatly enhanced traction. The automatic lockers tie the two axles together mechanically when the vehicle is travelling in a straight line, then unlock when corners are turned. Best of all, there is no need to re-setup the ring and pinion when installing these differentials since they simply replace the spider gears in your current carrier. http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/fbshopmain2.asp?cat=2 Not sure if anyone knows anything about them but it converts what you have. No setting up a rear end, no installation of a new one, suppose to be fairly simple to install and it's $480 to $500 depending on the unit that you purchase. Would be curious if anyone has any knowledge about these units.
Save your money.....get an orig posi unit and you will be set....to me Powertrax is way way overpriced for what it is.
