    Wow :eek2:

DETROIT (Reuters) - General Motors Corp. , suffering from a protracted slump in its U.S. sales, will announce on Wednesday that the same discounts on GM vehicles available to its employees will now be offered to the general public, dealer sources said.

I would buy a GM car(or truck) today. GM has a number of models that are definately ones I would buy. Lowering the prices is definately a great idea that will definately result in increased sales.

    Way to go,GM! :TU:

As of last week we took our '99 Odyssey for a drive down a bumpy country road.
Took a few other new cars & vans for test drives down the same bumpy road.
We now have a new Accord V-6 in the driveway.
For me, not many other cars measure up, in the long term, to what the Japanese are producing. There is a very small premium, but pays back very well.

I thoroughly enjoyed being SCREWED-OVER by GM last time I bought their trash. So sure, I'll take my lumps again! :moonu: :moonu: :moonu: :moonu:

    GM Sucks!

If they (GM) wanted to keep me as a customer they would have fixed my 40 thousand dollar Suburban. :af: But they had their chance and wanted to slap a cheap 1000 mile fix on it :spank: so now I drive a much less expensive Dodge truck and I am much happier. :TU:

As long as you don't keep a GM more the 30,000 miles or 2 years (or let a GM dealer work on it) they are fine. :Dou:

i was in Criswell Chevrolet this morning looking at the Duramax, salesman did not know what incentives GM would offer for june, but he seemed to think a $50K truck might could be had for about the $ 38K that Roberta mentioned in her thread the other day. even still, $ 38 K financed is still alot of bread for me right now. OTOH, its only money. hmmmmmmmm

I don't know. My Suburban has almost 220K miles on it. Except for regular maintenance, the engine is still running great. I did have the trans redone at 175K and I'll have to have the a/c recharged this year.

I'm looking at getting a new crew cab diesel long bed. 20 mpg is better than 15 mpg.

can the duramax get 20 MPG ? i hear tell of great mileage with the diesels. shoot, all i get now from the v 6 1500 conventional drive is about 16-17 i think. i am all for a bigger truck that gets better fuel mileage. i told the salesman i want a duramax, to the max.

My '03 Silverado 4X4 just turned over 100,000-with no problems, '99 Tahoe I traded had 200,000-air still ice cold,no tranny problems( Always towing something),engine still ran great, plus it still looked really good. OTOH, all of my friends with Dodge's and Ford's had tranny problems and a/c problems. The Fords (trucks)seem to burn transmissions up at 40,000,one of them had a turbo go out on a Super Duty with only 18,000 on it.The Ford owners have had numerous tire blowouts. A/C systems in the Dodge cars/trucks seem to last about 80,000 before the evaporators start leaking. The whole dash assembly has to be removed in most Dodge vehicles to gain access to the evaporator box. A friend with a new '05 Dodge dually diesel had his engine blow up,which is unusual with the Cummings diesel.Propane,a chip, and exhuast didn't help, though! The GM trucks are better built and higher quality components are used.

    Info

You can all get the GM employee discount, plus $3000 rebate on Trucks, gm employee pricing is available at Gm.com If anyone is going from a Ford or DCX or other than GM please let me know, as I can use you as a referral for the new Ambassdor-2 Program, and get $100 off my next GM purchase, not a big deal but if you want to let me get in on the deal, that would be cool!

Where I live all the dealers offer (and have for almost 2 years) supplier discount pricing to the general public, but almost everyone around is affiliated with a big supplier :Do No: . But I also get that on Ford and Dodge. After byuing my last new GMC truck, I'd like a new F-250. Too pricey though, so I'm currently looking for a 90-96 F-150 in good condition for a tow vehicle....any sellers?
