Looks like it can be done........ Rumblings out of the Backwoods in Kentucky have abused the Dyno to the tune of 597lb/ft of torque at 4400 and 593 HP at 6000. Engine is a 470 CI with some well prepped Alum. Stage 1 heads,a mild cam,930CFM carb, and there was also some extra power in oilpan design. This thing was above 590lb/ft from 4100 through 4800 and above 580 HP from 5500 to 6500!!! All with th pump gas friendly 10.3-1 compession. That folks is 1 impressive build-up that would put even a full weight GS in the 10's providing you did your homework on the rest of the car.:eek2:
I wouldnt mind some low 12s or high 11's from the wifes car!!! I need it also to be on a diet!! (4090 lbs) It has gone so far 12 86 so far..... all stock manifolds..sorta :Brow:
Sleeper, kinda Speak softly and carry a BIG STICK!!:Brow: Might wanna wrap some wool around THAT wolf!
Somebody told! Hope to have it running and in the car by the end of next week. Shake down runs after that. We'll see!:TU:
Your putting that beast in a 76' body.:eek2: That thing sould come with beware of bad ass buick stickers.
Shake down runs Tom, Thanks for the offer but the engine is already at the shop waiting to bolt in! Should be done in time for the Summer Solstace race in Morroco Sunday the 13th. I think we are both going to be traction challenged. I gotta top your 11.55 pump gas run.
I think once you have things working my 11.55 won't be close to what you will run. Have you done much suspension work to the car? I am working on some pipe rear arms with heim joints for the rear of mine, will be somewhat like the Dick Miller setup. Tom
rear suspension Yeah, Tom. I went to mono leaf springs and CalTrac bars. Also put a cross member in the frame above the rear end to mount the competition engineering shocks. Car also has a 12 point roll cage for stiffness. Just not enough wheel well to get a good sized tire in. I'm gonna try some 26 X 10 X 15 Mickeys. Hope they work! If not, then I will try a taller narrower tire with more gear. My goal is 10.999 on pump gas.
