I replaced a burned out low beam headlight in my truck. I baought a Wagner halogen H4703 - nothing fancy just the standard small rectangular headlight. I noticed it was made in Taiwan. It was made with a metal back. The Guide I took off had a glass back with the reflector inside. The metal back was thinner than the Guide and it would not sit tight in the mounting frame. This caused it to be loose and jiggle. I should have returned it, but it was late and I didn't want to fool with it. It had metal locating tabs on the back (the Guide tabs were part of the glass). I carefully bent the tabs out until it was tight.
Another pain in the neck from poor foreign quality control. Next time you buy a headlight , check for the metal back. It may cause you problems.
