It's a few weeks earlier than I usually do this, but today I put the 68 into storage for the winter. Earlier this week I discovered a fantastic deal on storage, so now I'll be able to park my daily driver 89 F150 in the new garage this winter. :beer We have a large fairgrounds here, with a number of quonset style buildings all with concrete floors, and from late Sept to early April, you can store vehicles/boats/whatever for those 6+ months for only $7 per foot of the length of the vehicle. That's right, only $115.50 for the whole storage period! The buildings are locked up and the whole property is fenced too. I believe they have room for about 500 vehicles, and were about half full already, 2 days ago.

A guy I work with used to keep his cars there, and he said in the spring when they require pickup, it's just like a car show, with all the classic stuff coming out. The only thing I didn't really like, was that you do not park your own car. You drop it off, and you pick it up. They drive them in and out. They will put your car cover on if you want, and will disconnect the battery if you specify it. I also didn't like that pickup in April is on specific days per each storage building. Heck, we could have a snowstorm the first week of April... :Dou:

    Yup, I feel your pain.
Mine going away weekend after next, I think.
Might have clocked 300-400 miles all summer!
Been an unusually warm Fall here, lousy summer..rain,fog,rain,fog,fog...
We did have a bit of sun around 2:38Pm July 17/04, lasted about an hour.
Bunch of us here keep our cars in a local barn, concrete floors, very dry & secure.
The owner, an old, old farmer asks $180.00 for the winter until late May.

I'm bummed because the weather is still good here too. I drove it until around Nov 1 last year. The timing is good for me though, I'm going to empty out the garage into a storage unit this coming week, and I needed a place to put it when we move 3 weeks from tomorrow. So the timing of finding this option was actually very good, it'll be out of the way to get this stuff done. But I'll miss being able to go to the garage this winter to tinker from time to time.
