I have a 72 Lark with a 350. I put an aftermarket intake (TA 350 stage 1) and carb (Holley Street Avenger 670).

My problem is that the car battery doesnt hold a charge/recharge. The alternator has been replaced (and tested good) from Schucks. The battery is new.

Is there an internal voltage regulator for this year model? Is it external?

If it is indeed external, any1 have a suggestion on where to find 1.

John, I went with a self exciting single alternator and you don't use the external regulater and it works quiet and more dependable, AL.

If you want to just replace the regulator, I replaced mine with a Wells VR715 that I got at, I think, Autozone for pretty cheap. It's a solid state unit.

Al Fiandaca (GSThunder) suggested at the time that I swap the cover off the original onto the Wells unit for an original look. I have not done that yet, but it's on my list.
