My GS carcass is about ready to kiss the world goodbye; it was not able to be saved. The replacement body is the only way to go; except the GS has a vinyl top and the replacement body does not. The car will be a vinyl top car, so how do I get the holes/pins in the correct location for the rear chrome? It’s a goofy spot to try and measure anything. Also, the GS has one pin on the pass side and three on the driver’s side, how do I replicate these pins?

    Anyone have a template?

    Thanks

Holy crow. Are you serious Rich? Different number of studs? I wonder if this was a factory screwup because I don't remember that on mine. Unless I just overlooked it. Can you cut that section off the dead car and use it as a template or guideline for the new body? They sell the studs I think, but you're right, the placement is real tricky. There's GOTTA be a way or method though. I'm sure it's been done.

I could swear I've seen non-weld in replacement studs somewhere but I can't for the life of me remember where that was. I just remember thinking how cool it was because if you have remorse after hacking them permamnently off you could still go back.

This item was discussed before. Search on something like vinyl trim location. I had some pics of this that someone sent to me and must of deleted them.

Saw a mention of a Phillips head replacement stud (which is what I remember seeing) but no source. What is the source for these, specifically? I either saw them on ebay or an aftermarket supply magazine.
