Weird twist... Wow! I'm glad this thread has done so well. It takes everyone to make such a wonderful spot. Thanks to Lon, Wildbill, and Guy for adding some more great pictures we can all appreciate. Those pictures of the Reynolds Buick are priceless! Speaking of prices, some of you have asked if these pictures are for sale anywhere. They were originally on eBay sometime in the late spring or early summer. Lon Bauer mentioned he had posted a thread with a link to the eBay sale. Sure enough it still was there: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=45175 For those of you that took the next step and clicked on the eBay link, were you shocked or what? Now I don't feel guilty for not bidding on those pictures. The seller never sent most of them out! Check his feedback: http://feedback.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ry&items=25&page=1&frompage=222&iid=-1&de=off 50 PLUS NEGATIVE FEEDBACKS!!! Fortunately, some of us saved the pictures in a file. Brett was kind enough to resize the three pictures that were to big. The eBay auctions had the little pictures near the title and then the larger pictures below in their standard auction format. I only managed to save 3 large pictures and the smaller ones we already have on here {I don't think the smaller ones can be made into bigger ones without losing clarity}. I really wished I would have made a greater effort now and had saved all of them in the larger format. We may have lost a little history but at least we saved some. I'd still love to have the picture on here that had what was likely Dick Baker, standing in the staging lanes in front of the '70. Oh well, whatever we lack there, Guy has more than made up for with those outstanding shots of the Reynolds car which just screams nostalgia! Thanks for helping make this such a great thread and Wildbill-please add as many of those classic b&w shots as you like. The last time you posted a bunch of them I thought I had gone into a time machine! :TU:
Brian, i'll keep posting till you say quit. Anyone else got any vintage racing photos to share. Peace WildBill
This car is in Oakville, Ontario Canada and is raced in F stock it's painted yellow now like the GSX'S :3gears:
Found It!!! Gary, Bill, or Brad-I found the picture in a file where it wasn't supposed to be-#$*@ family photos! Anyway, Is this Dick Baker? I hope so! That way we'll all have an idea what this early Buick racer looked like. :bglasses:
Yep, sure looks like Dick to me...in his younger "thinner" days. He got quite heavy in his later years, well at least the last time I saw him (early/mid 80s). Great guy. Would give you the shirt off his back.
yes thats him as brad said, in his younger thinner days. and yes, he would give you the shirt off his back. a shame he is not with us any longe. he was already much heavier than this when i first met him in 73.
Cool. Thanks Scott and Brad. It is so neat to throw a picture on here and have feedback, not only about the car but its owner as well.
Rob, I dig the second picture you posted of the dragster. It looks like the corner of a '67 Buick there too. It looks to me like you have the name for your future GSX/GSX clone. X-Terminator.
