I posted this pic NOT for the yellow car to but what is interesting is the background . Looking at some vintage pictures online trying to find some pics of my own car I came across this . In the background is a Mystery 70 GS on the trailer with some lettering .

    Dave,

Someone had mentioned that the pic had been at Irwindale. Im not sure. I have been looking at a gazillion vintage drag racing pics online . I came across this GS in the background. That is all of the info i have. I can trace my car to when it was new but i only have 2 photos of it. I am trying to locate anything else about it mainly an action shot.

I can't believe this thread still rises to the top every couple weeks after starting in 2004. Keep in mind that the board was a little over a couple years old when this thread began.

I guess that speaks volumes to what us Buick (and old car) junkies strive for in terms of viewing pleasure, waxing nostalgic and simply looking at and learning about former racers.

Thought this picture deserves to be put up here even though I posted it in other threads.
Pic came from Doug Jones that he received from Denny Manner.
It is the Branson car that could have housed the 4-bolt block with tunnel port heads at the time of this picture.
    Was taken at Milan Dragway.
Thanks to Denny and Doug for sharing.

Thanks to 66cat for the discovery of this 1971 Skylark stocker. The checker flag appears to have come at a pretty high cost to the body of the ole GSX replica.

Back in the 90's(or at least that was the last I saw it) there used to be a white 71 GS with Stage 1 emblems that raced weekends at Osceola Dragway in Osceola Indiana.

I can't lay hands on a picture, but it was,if memory serves me, triple white, but had multi-color stripes like yellow, candy red, candy blue, maybe some darker gold, and on the decklid the was a mural of something with hand painted letting "Asphalt Animal".

Anyone else ever see something like this? From what I was told at the time, the car had been a drag car since the early-mid 70's.
The only bummer about the car, was when you walked up to this Stage 1 with the hood open, there sat a small block Chevy. The owner said the 455 blew up, and it was "just too costly" to continue racing with Buick power.:boring:
