I think I found on a web site a photo of that car in color, think it was orange :)

There are color pics of the Lackey car either in this thread, or the thread about vintage racing Buicks.

I've seen pictures of this car at local tracks. (Cincy area) Nick Lackey, the pop singer, is also from this area. Is he a relation?

There is this picture of the 1971 car in color (thanks Brian Alnrecht!) that I "think" is the same picture in the KB catalog found some pages back in this thread.
But I couldn't find any colored shots of the 1970 car.

I also did a search for "vintage racing Buicks", but could not find anything...could you direct me to that thread? :beer

    thanks!

Yes Guy, Jim Bell gave them some help with parts for their car. I used to see them at the Indy Nationals, very friendly folks.

Ok, it's not a Buick, nor is it theoretically a "race" car, but it was probably a pretty quick street car back in it's day.

The history on it is pretty cool too. It was resurrected from storage in a garage, and was virtually (and still is) untouched. Still wearing the same paint and interior from back in it's heyday.

Oh, and if you're wondering; it's a Dick Harrell modified car. Wish I could find some of the photos from when they first pulled it out of storage. I searched and searched the Yenko.net site, where I know I saw them, but came up with nothing.

    Gotta love those vintage wheels!

I'm still looking for that color photo of the Reynold's car in it's later years.

Anyone have more pics or info on the other Reynolds Buick from page 2?

Id love to do a clone of that.

    Somebody help? Guy?

I really don't know much about that car...but just realized there is a "T" decal on the windshield! That's cool.

Doug Jones may know something about this car??

Ever notice they weren't really too big on aesthetics/ pleasing the eye? I was looking at other pics of the car, and some of the stickers on the side look like they were just thrown on there; not leveled, not centered, etc.

I guess they were more concerned about it going fast than how it looked! :3gears:

Do the new Keystone wheels they sell look different than the old ones? Seems to me the old ones look a lot "sharper", or the center sections look less rounded?

Doing some research on the picture, surprised I can't remember the story on the car, checking with Jim Bell and Dave Benisek. Perhaps it was Pop's car before he teamed up with Jim, I will try to get some info asap.

I don't wanna stray from the topic at hand, but maybe you'll see something like this in the future . . .

Forgive the meager attempt with my paint program . . .

I know I already have a thread on it here http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=196358 so I'll shut up about it now.

    Just bumping the thread!

Just got an email from Jim Bell regarding the Reynolds car, it belonged to a Reynolds employee that he referred to as "Sonny". The car was did not perform well and the Reynolds sponsorship was short-lived. The car was repainted orange and any further history may be available from old timers at the dealership.

Huh, so now we know. Thanks for finding that out!

I know one of the pictures of that car floating around the net came from me putting it out there.
I originally got the pictures from an email a long time ago (lost the email).
His name was Tim (i think), and worked with Denny or at Buick at one time.
He didn't seem to know much about the car either.

    Thanks Doug!

Wow what a great thread, this needs to be a sticky for sure.

I need to get a scanner and find my pictures I have some of the before and after of Art Arfonze's green monster when he didn't stop the second time at Detroit Drag way in the early 80s
Any one have a picture of any of Geoprge Hall's race cars, I believe he was also sponsered by Motor Wheel IIRC. I have a couple pictures of his '74 GS.
