PRICE JUST REDUCED TO $40. This is a good condition, used CARTER in-line gas filter. Likely late 1950's-1960's vintage. As you likely know, these Carter units are designed to go between the carb gas inlet and the gas line coming from the fuel pump. The ceramic filter element is designed to easily be cleaned, which I just did. The ceramic filter does not need to replaced nearly as often as the pleated paper style of gas filter.

NOTE: This CARTER filter is the "short" version. That means it usually has the clearance to mount under a stock air cleaner housing. The tall version of this filter is much more likely to be found in 1940's through mid 1950's BUICK's.

The brass inlet and outlet fittings shown are included. However, you can do just about anything you want to with this filter, using the appropriate, removable brass fittings.

The gasket for sealing the gas bowl is soft and did not previously leak. As mentioned, I've cleaned the ceramic filter element, and it appears fine. I decided not to repaint the red filter housing top. Many guys run these with the natural metal color (original paint removed), so I figured a new paint job might be wasted.

The price is $45, plus the shipping. NEW PRICE IS $40, plus the shipping. Thanks for looking. John
