Its also a 74 color and trim book on ebay, but I'm not sure if thats a book that is wanted for the library? It looks really good and is half of what this book is..That seller has a lot of 74 literature..I wonder if any of the sellers are members of this forum and would be interested in doing pictures to help out..

Anything BUICK related is a welcome addition to the libraries, i even been asking members here selling things here to scan and send them in before they are gone , but seems some people are in the hobby for profit and dont care to help out. Been one of the problems with Buick values, people seem to want to retain secrecy (or the I got it you cant have it game) and then when the time comes to sell no one will pay the bucks -- Camero's -Chevelles - Vettes - Stangs - Cuda's etc dont have the secrecy, people can get all the option/colour trim/pricing and know what they are getting themselfs into (so can boattail owners with a few small holes in info now) and info is ready available to decode those others down the light bulbs (getting there for boattails and you buy it here for some A bodies).

If GM printed it we have GM Media Archive Permission to post it - if none GM it can be still used as cross reference material and the info sent out in members downloads, used since it was GM to start with, just not posted if under other copyright.

Member compiled lists /tech articles/restoration tips/ car summaries/event reports/videos etc are also welcome - unlike many sites/ publications the author retains the copyright - Things that fit into libraries will be added - others will again be used for reference and or inclusion in the Rivin it UPdate (restoration tips/car summaries/event coverage - the newsletter maybe named for our baottail registry origin, but it and the libraries are for ALL BUICKS and their owners both registry and librarries members, focus is to be boattails and the lesser known Buicks, but a Nice GSX article with good info and reference comparisons to other Buicks would of course be included from time to time (i used to be a GS guy and have a good stash of that info - as some of the 68-70 GS owner contributors can tell you. ( I do send what raw info I have that cant into/or doesn't fit libraries for other Buicks to those who show some effort/interest in the libraries - so far I think everyone (except for Sean Smith because he sent in so much) has gotten way more back than they have sent in (especially so at members download level)

Next months In the headlights, for example is the engine and trans production code/parts casting number decode section for the boattails, but that info is applicable to all 455 bucks for the era - the big decode book it will be part of will include trim /colour/ production codes/ option codes/part casting numbers charts and decodes (need info on that) for as many models as we can gather it for in that era - (have 90% of it already - most of it is scattered thru the current and upcoming library pubs). This months member downloads included Sean Smiths compilation of Buick option codes -a work in progress contains many of the codes from 1938 to 1980 (its also been posted here on the board - going to be compilling more and adding pricing and model availability to that probably have 80% of that info from non GM source puibs - --But dealer facts books, price guides would make that more accurate also with this months Rivin it UPdate from From Sean Smith – was a collection of 1928 thru 64 basic specs and serial numbers for all makes and models.

I guess that enough promotion for now - I just say It ain't just boattails - tell as many people its ALL Buicks -and I'll get too work - processing the baottail of the month winner and finishing off the next pub for the library.

Ziggy has bought this book specifically for the libraries and already sent me pictures of the pages, which will be going into the library - just been kinda slow working on libraries, with all the car shows and nice weather. Fall is hear that about to change this and 71/72 service bulletins sent in by another Library/Registry member are up next for addition to the libraries.
