    to get a car across the border i need to find a manufacturing date, and i'd also like to know a little bit about the car
    the vin is 433279H208543
    I think its a 350 (the H) and thats what i was told it was
    it says california special, wondering if it is.
    also, what month and year was it manufactured?

    month and week build info was on the body tags in the 70s but i'm not seeing that in my 60s ref book.

    buick didn't include engine info in the VIN until 72.

    4 = Buick
    33 = Special (opt California GS)
    27 = 2d Post Coupe
    9 = 1969
    H = Flint, MI, Buick plant
    208543 = sequential production number, i think they started with 100001 so that should be fairly late in the year.

    Check the firewall tag, upper left corner, there should be an alpha numeric code which will tell you the month and week of manufacture.
    I have imported 2 cars into Canada from the USA.
    Make sure you provide US Customs at least 72 hours notice prior to export
    You can find all the details on the link below:

    http://www.riv.ca/english/html/how_to_import.html

    The 72 hours is so US Customs can check the VIN for export approval. Failure to do so, could result in you leaving the car in the USA until it's approved for export.

    If you need more info, send me a PM, I'll be happy to assist.
