hi, My name is Yeroon, Ihave myself a little project can i'm working on, its a full size chevy van, we ripped the old 305 out b/c it was knocking, got a 350 for 70$ for it, so were doing an egine swap. i have a 350 engine that we ripped out of an orchard car, but i have no clue what year it is, i have the vin but no sites do pre 80's vins that i could find. i know its not a powerful engine b/c it has a 2 barrel on it, i just want to know if it needs leaded or unleaded gas and a new cam/intake the vin is 4N57H4Y166912 the ones might be i's but i doubt it b/c other sites said there are no i's in vin's thanks for your help!
That engine is out of a '74 LeSabre 2door, built in Flint. '74 is no-lead engine, with egr and a.i.r pump, emission engine, should have HEI distributor. It's usable for what you want to do with it, but would need alot of work to make it fast. Check out the Small block tech forum here for more info!
