Riv GS Weren't there Riv GS's that had 430's? What was the difference between a Riv with a 430 and a Riv GS with a 430? Thanks. P.D.
I believe the GS option on the Riv was more or less a handling package. It would also include the Riv GS hi-performance 430 which was a step up from the standard 430...
Yes except for perhaps 1971 models. You would need some original paperwork that came with the car for that year.
All yellow X's will have a Q Q paint code and should be the only 70 cars with this code. White cars will have a 10 10 paint code but I think any all white car in 70 will also have this code. Maybe other cues as well but would have to really be in to GSX's to know these.
It's listed on the Fisher Body Plate mounted under the hood on the cowl... right in front of the driver. QQ will be the Paint Code "PNT Q-Q"
No I Wish Listen to this story. There is my buddy's brother in law works with a guy whos buddy has a 70X for sale. Blah blah blah blah blah, we will see, I am going to hunt the guy down this weekend and use the hints on this board to identify the car in question. With my luck it will probably end up be 74 skylark. I will however bring a camera in case it is real. Wish me luck, there is alot of things that need to line up here for me to actually get to the car. We all know somebody who has a 70X for sale don't we. uzzled: You know what I am talking about. :spank:
NONE ! Except for the front fender badging, a chrome breather cover, a 3.42 posi rear end, heavy duty suspension, and radial ply tires - but any or all of these options could be added to any Riviera, factory installed, or dealer installed, the exception being the front fender badging. :TU:
Josh let us know about how that X turns out. Best to be sceptical. I do know someone who found a white real GSX Stage-1 that had been sitting in a garage for many years. You would cry if you knew how cheap he got it for. this was about three years ago. Original engine was sitting in the corner of the garage as car was raced with another engine. The guy I know just showed up with some cash in hand his wife saw it and the car was his. If she only knew! Imagine her shock if she ever watches the Barret jackson!
loud talkers I saw the car..... I told you guys, It ends up to be a 71 SKYLARK. Paying $500 would have been paying too much. I will post a pic after camera is developed. Bummer....But I never got too excited knowing the chances were slim. To a chevy guy, every buick probably is a GSX. Thanks for the input anyways. JP
