Ok, this may come over as a semi rant aswell as a question.

Does anybody make a vernier style cam sprocket for the 455? The reason for asking is that I'm currently finishing off a 455 build, and it's using the TA double roller with the multi position crank gear. Thing being, me being a UK boy used to european engines where vernier is the norm, this is a right royal PITA! Mind you, we also tend to time our engines on a lift@TDC method, so you just set true TDC, move the DTI to the inlet or exhaust and move the cam to get the figure, then lock it up. Simple!

Looking at the cam sprocket and drive, I was going to put the sprocket in the mill, elongate the bolt holes and also add a third, and drill and tap the cam appropriatly. Then realised it would be quicker to just time the engine with the crank gear!

Was just a question on my mind and wondering if there was a reason why it is like it is. This is probably where a I get a list of people saying "Ah, you wanted xxxx's timing gear!" :pp

    Cheers all
