I need help adjusting my front vent windows... I need to move the top point inward (toward inside of car), thus bringing the "bottom edge" outward (toward the outside if the car).... Here's a rough sketch of the passenger side: * |\ | \ | \ ---- "bottom edge" I need to pull the point indicted by * toward the inside of the car. I checked my '65 Body manual, and I didn't think it was very helpful... This is for a '65 Skylark, but perhaps it's similar for other years... Any thoughts? THANKS
Open the door, open the window and bend it in. That's what a body shop did for me. Worked just fine. PONCH
Can't help you on this one, but I have a similar question. I have a considerable gap between my vent windows and the outer skin of the door. 1/4" to 3/8" which is barely covered by the weatherstripping. It just doesn't seem right to me and I was wondering if that is how it's supposed to be or did someone screw up?
That makes me nervous... Anyone else also do that? Here's a pic to illustrate what I'm talking about.
'65 Body Manual pgs 2D-16 & 2D-17 doesn't help... Any other sources? Or is bending the pivot pin the way to go? Found this in a Chevelle forum: "I have had the same problem but I was able to adjust it out by bending the mounts pivot points. It took alot of time but I don't have any more wind noise." Found this in a Mustang Forum (see steps # 13 & 14): www.mustangmonthly.com/techarticles/mump_0703_classic_mustang_vent_window/window_frame.html
