well i know these is a buick spot.but you guys know what you guys are talking about and my dads ford fe 360 got the heads fixed and one of the valves got stuck shortly after.they fixed again and onother valve got stuck again well the spring does.why does it keep doing this??is it the fault of the guy who fixed the heads.much help appreciated.thanx
Sounds to me like the guide clearance is too tight...........yes, that's the machinist's fault. They need to be taken apart and reamed with a piloted reamer. :bglasses:
hey some guy told me its probably because it needs hardened seats do you think that might be it and thanx nailhead becuse the machinist has been mad about fixing it.
DEFINITELY not the seats.........the valve stems are binding, they are too tight. If he's pissed b/c he didn't do the job right he should fix it..............if he doesn't stand behind his work he is a schmuck. :bglasses:
the mechanic is saying that it could be the camshaft or the pushrods hes denying is his fault and another mechanic said exactly what you told me that the valve guides are too tight.thanx
That's a good one.........how could a camshaft or pushrod cause a valve to get stuck open? This guy sounds like a real jerk, you might want to consider having someone else do your work over again before he screws the motor up real good. :bglasses:
