Valve Grind: 401

    What could a guy expect to pay for this ervice? I only need one head done, good compression on the other side.

    I think $150ish would be in the ballpark for one head. Depends on how many guides or other items you might need.

    I paid $250 CDN each for a rebuild job on my 401 heads. That was for installing new guides, springs, valves, and a three angle grind.

    You're probably best off if you take the pair in and get them both rebuilt. Rebuilding only one is like buying only one shoe instead of a pair.

    I've decided that I'll do both sides. Might as well, right there, everything apart.
