Probably get more than one answer to this. I used Plastikote 209 Universal Red. http://www.amazon.com/PlastiKote-20...8470391&sr=1-2&keywords=plastikote+engine+red I anquished over the shade but finally came to the conclusion that as long as its red you'll be OK. Not orangy red, not pinkish red and not dark red. Just plain old bright red and there are various manufacturers that carry plain red. I think the red that was used on the 430s the following year and subsequently the 455s was a just bit darker/deeper.
Ford red and Buick red is the same.... I have used Ford red on my engines for years and no one has ever noticed any difference.....cause there aint none.....:laugh:
I wasn't sure, all the Nailheads I see are that Blue/Green color. I was asking for my own information I bought a can and sprayed it on my 340 intake I'm prepping, it does match very well.:TU: Plus think of all the confusion, it's not a chevelle, it has a 340, and it's ford Red. :idea2:
tell them it's a Dodge  Have I told you the story about the father and soon that were looking at my Roadmaster's engine? The son (looking at the sparkplug covers) says, "Dad, this one doesn't have any sparkplugs." The father, "That's because it's a Diesel"
yep,,, Bulldog,,, my buddy and I were showing side by side at our local show and he was showing his late model Mustang.... it has a tower brace across the top of the engine... a guy told his kid that the bar was there to ''keep that engine from tearing out of the motor mounts''.....ou: We both just cracked up.......
it's actully kinda funny, before I got the Buick I was looking to Duster/Valiants. So I always laugh, well I still got a 340 one way or another
