1967 400-430 LH Drivers side valve cover...on the opposite end from the oil breather cap there is a rubber grommet... Has anybody had to find a replacement/retrofit for theirs and or know where I can get a new one....Thanks for looking.
The 67 BBB has a grommit on the same valve cover as the oil filler? Huh. 69 had the oil fill on the driver's side and the breather attaching on the pass.
Grommet Sounds like your talking about the A.I.R. grommet part #1364117. 1966 & 67'S shows to be in the left v/cover. David
Re: Grommet I think your correct....I've been told that A.I.R. is the only reason for the front or second hole in the LH cover....It's really just a big rubber plug for the hole...same on all 67 400-430's...Maybe I should try your part# to see if it's out there somewhere.... Sounds like we may be on to something....anybody else?
CARS has 'em.....64-67 Solid Rocker Cover Plug....pn CP-647 $9.50 each www.oldbuickparts.com I haven't bought these particular pieces from them (they didn't have any at the Carlisle show), but I did buy the other grommets, which were correct down to the molded-in part number....
Last year when I did the 455/462 I changed the breather / oil fillers on my Edelbrock covers. I went to NAPA and went thru their stock and found some that matched the hole in the cover and the snout of the breather I wanted to use. Work great & look fine. Don't remember the part number.
Thanks, I ordered one of these CP-647. And while cruising the NOS listings @ CARS, looking for same, I came up with a #1365030 description: (Valve Cover Plug 64-67 all) ...We'll see if either one will work when they arrive. I'll post my findings. thepartsman: Thanks for the pm, will be interesting to see if the above # is similar to the #1364117 you suggested. Thanks everyone for the help.
