vacuum modulator line ripped through the vacuum hose...options

I replaced the vacuum modulator, which most of you probably know is much much smaller than the stock one. I used the vacuum hose provided which is relatively the same length as the one that was on there. But since the connector to the new vacuum modulator is in a different spot and essentially further away since it's smaller, the metal line that goes to the engine goes past the connector (downward) and hooks around (toward the front of the car). So the vacuum hose is basically pulling the line more toward the front of the car, and the metal line ripped through.

So my questions are: is it feasible to cut the line shorter?

Is it possible to bend the line?

My plan was to possibly cut it shorter and bend it a little so it faces more toward the connector. If I can't bend it, I was planning on cutting it, that way I can use a longer piece of vacuum hose so it will curve around to the vacuum modulator. This way it won't rip because of a sharp curve or any tension against the hose.

Oh yea and what size vacuum hose goes to the vacuum modulator, anyways?

You can carefully bend that line any way you need. just dont kink it. I had to do it whne I put the new combo in my Riv.

No I dont remember but probably 1/8th or 3/16. what ever fits snug. take the old one to the store with you. Most likely give you the 2-3" for free.

Its made from 3/16" brake line. It should bend very easily. A regular tubing cutter will cut it.
