installed vacuum booster and works very well. problem is now tranny wont shift correctly. my theory is the booster is not letting enough vacuum to trans modulator. your thoughts trans has been in car 12 years with no problems at all. I will disconnect booster and go back original system.what are your ideas on my problem. Thanks, Ken

I would not expect that to be the case. The fitting for the trans is generally on the back of the intake and it is manifold vacuum. The booster should only take accumulated vacuum and store it for your next brake press.

What are the actual symptoms of your shifting issues?

Unless there is a vacuum leak somewhere, vacuum should be the same EVERYWHERE in a closed system. You need to check the actual vacuum at the modulator first. The extra vacuum storage tank should have no effect on transmission shifting.

I agree with above. Check the vacuum at the tranny, also try disconnecting the booster and put a vacuum pump on it to see if it holds vacuum. It may have a small leak causing a drop in the rest of the system
